The “Forest School Sym” camp was held in the village of Sym in Astara region.
During the camp, children met Babakhan, the hero of the documentary film “The Last Leopard of the Caucasus”, produced by National Geographic. The Leopard Man shared with the children his memories of watching the leopard and answered the children’s questions.
Children learned about village life from the inhabitants of the village of Sym, took part in the process of milking cows, baking bread, and making “nekhre” butter.
In addition, the children learned how to light bonfire and build a snow house – an igloo.
Having learned how to use binoculars and a compass, they took part in an intellectual game of finding a landmark and found their way to the Sym waterfall.
The participants of the camp also took part in entertaining and educational games that support various areas of development, organized according to the educational concept of “Forest School”.
On the last day of the camp, an excursion was organized to the house of the Lankaran Khan and the 19th century hammam.
